RE-ELECT

daniel watson

crawford county treasurer

INTRODUCTION

I am excited to announce my candidacy for a second term to the office of Crawford County Treasurer. I am a lifelong resident of Van Buren, Arkansas. After graduating from Van Buren High School, I attended College at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, and graduated from Global University in Springfield, Missouri. I served as Chief Deputy Treasurer from 2012-2022.  I was sworn into office on January 1, 2023.   I am proud to be a member of the Republican Party of Crawford County, and the Arkansas County Treasurer's Association where I also serve on the Executive Board.

FAMILY

I come from a family who believes in working hard to make a living. My grand-parents, Dutch and Maxine Watson taught their family to work hard, but most importantly, keep God first place in your life. My parents, Charles and Brenda Watson, live by the same principle. They also strive to help people along the way. My dad raised a garden with my grandfather for many years. They would sell some produce, but gave away a lot of it, just to be neighborly. My mother served as Veteran Service Officer for Crawford County before retiring in 2019. My wife, Alyssa and I reside in Van Buren Arkansas. We were married on October 13, 2018.

FAITH

I am so thankful to God for His many blessings, and for a family who brought me to church with them each week. My wife and I were both blessed in this manner. I have been an ordained Assemblies of God minister since 2016 and actively serving as Lead Pastor since 2019. The same Gospel Message of Jesus Christ that was given to me, is the same message that I want to share to the next generation.

"For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." - Psalm 100:5

MY COMMITMENT TO THE CITIZENS OF CRAWFORD COUNTY:

I am not making empty campaign promises, but I can assure you that I am the only candidate for County Treasurer who can walk into the office, and continue to know exactly how to do the job. With over 13 years experience working in the County Treasurer's Office, I have gained knowledge of the county budget process, I prepare monthly financial reports for the Quorum Court, provide accurate financial reporting to our school districts and cities for monthly and quarterly tax distributions, distribute funds to our Rural Fire Departments, and keep a balanced financial report in harmony with our county bank accounts. As your County Treasurer, my commitment to the citizens of Crawford County is that I will continue to maintain a balanced budget, provide accurate financial reporting to our local schools and government offices, and maintain the integrity of the County Treasurer's Office. The Crawford County Treasurer's Office is audited annually by the Arkansas State Auditor's Office, and has been found to be in complete compliance with all State and Federal Laws.  This is not just something I promise to do, but this is what I will continue to do. With your vote, together we can continue to keep financial integrity at its highest level.  Although the county has a multi-million dollar budget, every penny matters.  It is my principle each month to balance every fund to the penny. I look forward to continue serving  for another term as your Crawford County Treasurer. Thank you for your support.
